News Letter?

So as you know, I am technically challenged. It is not that I do not like computers, rather they do not like me! With this in mind, I am determined to make this blog and website experience as complicated as I possibly can. I have now mastered adding a blog post and adding basic content to my site but still have to get my head around tags and categories. I thought a widget was something in the bottom of a can of beer but apparently I was wrong there too.

At 4am this morning, I decided I wanted to set up a newsletter. How hard can it be?  Very, apparently!

I want to provide, summaries of the blog, fact sheets and further exclusive images to those of you that sign up to the website. Oh my days, it involves signing up to other sites including something called Mail Chimp, widgets and site popup sign ups. This is so confusing and I began to think, it is only worth it, if you want it! It is now 7.50am and  no real progress has been made although, my book of usernames and passwords is growing rapidly.

Basically in this post I am not providing you with anything … I am asking for something. I really want to hear from you, is this something you are interested in? If it is, I am more than happy to develop my confusion further, and hopefully my technical skills.

Thank you in advance, Tracie x

  3. A Newsletter is a great idea. I love whatever you do. The Photoshop tutorials are excellent and so easy to understand. Your crafting videos are brilliant, and I would miss the mistakes you made if you edited them out. After all, we all make mistakes. That makes you more human and relatable to us all, and they are so funny. Keep on doing what you are doing.

I love your style and your you tube channel and would love to receive any tidbits from you. But only if it is enjoyable and non stressful for you. (And that really didn’t help answer your question did it 😊)

    Hi
Know the feeling Tracie!! I am trying to master social networking in order to sell my crafts and not getting very far either. I have never used them before. I am not very IT literate I’m afraid. I am a linguist in my day job, but this is all a totally new language!
I will appreciate anything you feel you wish to add to your site, but don’t make yourself stressed over it! We all love you and your work! xxxx

  6. I agree, down with stress! There are so many avenues to get us information and images. I don’t think a newsletter is necessary. If you’re having fun, we’re having fun!

A newsletter is a good way to connect with your followers but don’t stress yourself out. I really enjoy your videos and I’m sure your blog is going to be very successful with or without email.

  8. Good morning Tracie,
I think that the people that are following you will be able to go to your website and see all the content that you have available to them. Just put a link in your blog and you’ll be all set. Simple!!!

  10. You did master categories and tags! I got a laugh at the tags you put on this post! I’m not sure how needed a newsletter is since WordPress sends an email whenever there is a new post. Signing up on your website gives people this option to be notified.
If you do decide to begin a newsletter, I am confident that you will figure out how to do it! The fact that you worked through the challenges in building this website is proof that you can do it and your accomplishment is actually much more impressive knowing that it doesn’t come easy for you!

    1. Thank you lovely. It was more to offer a downloadable version and more to the people that are kind enough to sign up. I really appreciate the support and it would be a further thank you. I was thinking that really. LOL It was not easy but I have learnt a lot already. How long I retain it is another thing and yeah, I saw the Tag button and thought, well I will try. I didn’t know it had worked lol xx

Tracie it would be lovely to have a newsletter but I wouldn’t want it to cut into your creative time. We all NEED that, Paula

  18. Hi Tracie, I think it would just be something else to keep on top of. Please think of your health and don’t spread yourself too thinly. If people want information they will find it.
To be brutally honest I would probably delete an extra email notification as I’m already aware of what’s going on with your blog , YouTube etc
In the end it comes down to what you want.
I hope this helps. I love what you do.
    With love, Tracey xxx

  24. Firstly you need a secretary/technical clerk!!
I would love to see newsletter, I don’t think it needs to be often, just once a quarter could be good. I think they can draw a community together a bit featuring different interactive things maybe? little giveaways, like downloads, you could feature someone else’s work after asking for submissions, someone else’s blog etc etc However don’t try and do too much at once. Grow into it, everything will happen as you become more familiar with the computer side of things.

  26. Personally I’d be happy to continue reading your blog and wait on the newsletter idea. Sounds way too stressful for now. Give it time and maybe in the future a newsletter would be something you can tackle.

  27. Hi Tracie, A newsletter is a great idea but involves a lot of work to ensure no over duplication of content.
Trying to manage multiple content ooutputs can be very stressful and hard to maintain to a good standard. I would focus initially on the blog and perhaps do a newsletter occasionally.

Having said all that you have so much to offer I think you will rapidly gain the skills to master the various challenges. Good luck with it all.

    1. Oh I am learning. Part of my plan is to ‘duplicate content’ in fact sheet formats and printable guides and offer further exclusive content to people who have subscribed. It will happen, just not today LOL. Thank you so much for your support 😀 xx

  28. I’m on board with the occasional newsletter; perhaps quarterly or something. Less stress for you but still putting out content for the reason you want to. You are so sweet to think of your followers but we want you to have fun first and foremost!! (Hope you got some sleep!🤓)

I am currently attending college in graphic design and I would like to learn how to send digital images for sale. I work so hard for my art, but I don’t know how to send good quality digital images.
