Basic Entomology – What I am up to.

This post may not be as exciting as it sounds.  I would love to say I am studying entomology right now but it is art related as you probably guessed.

I am in the process of creating 2 small garden themed journals for my Etsy store and I was unable to find the right tags or journaling cards to use along side the book pages. I wanted something with text or pattern, but not too much. Something with insects, including butterflies and bees but I wanted them fairly neutral. So what did I do? I created my own. Etsy is full of beautiful kits and images but I can never seem to find the right thing, when I am looking and I am sure I am not alone there. My lesson? To start adding things to my basket, when I see them, to buy later.

I was not going to add this set to my Etsy store but once the work was done, it was so easy to drop them into my template. As well as the set being in my Etsy store, I have added an additional journal card to my Downloads. I also have the link to my Etsy, in my Shop tab.

There will be a more informative post soon!

  3. Wow, they are just what I want to go in my new gardening project. I am making your envelope thingy but as a folded one with flaps, because I only had A4 size brown envelopes, so it’s a bit like the folder you made. I’m going to make something using both your ideas. Anyway, this kit will be great, I adore the little caterpillar! I’m glad you didn’t do a slug, but a beetle and an ant would have been good! 😉 They are gorgeous!

  5. The butterfly is lovely and perfect for my nature journal. Can I just say thank you. I was into DIY YouTube videos and found you by complete accident. Now not only am I making junk journals but my 7 year old granddaughter is too. It’s a lovely hobby to share and I’m truly grateful. Best wishes to you and all that you do from Ali and Lily-Rose x
